POOR FRIEND

JOURNAL 4
WEEK 5 (15/7/2013)

A POOR FRIEND

A pair of round eyes and pinky cheeks was owned by her. A long and shiny hair grew on her head. Her body was covered by fair skin. She was such a perfect looking girl and she was once, my best friend named Janely. Nonetheless, she has no longer on my sight anymore but deep inside my heart, she is still present on my mind.
I have known her since we were studying in form 1. We were classmates since then and we became best friends. Janely and I always shared our problems together. When the exams were just around the corner, Janely would come to my house and we would study together and this made our bond became closer each day. Sometimes, when I was sick, she would be very happy to come to visit me at my house. Besides, our family also know each other as my father and hers were working in the same company. However, one day, she came to school as usual but there was something wrong with her. She did not talk to me the whole day. When I was approaching her, she ignored my presence and it hurts my feeling.
As time passed by, our relationship became loosen. She never visited me at my house even when I was sick. She was really trying to avoid herself from me and I found that she spent almost 90% of her time alone and did not talk to anyone. I was very sad to see her in such condition. I knew she needed someone. Nevertheless, Janely was known by her secrecy attitude. She would not easily tell anybody about her problems including me. One day, as I walked to her house, I saw her, watering the plants. I came and approached her but as she saw me, she displayed a shocked face and chased me away angrily. Since that day onward, I started to hate her.
A year later, I have known that Janely has quit from our school. I was also found a new close friend and tent to forget everything about her since she has hurt me too much.
One day, as I was sending my fever brother to the hospital, I saw Janely’s mother cried on the balcony who was accompanied by her father. My heart beat suddenly drummed faster and faster. I then managed my careful steps towards them and asked what had happened. To my surprise, Janely’s mother hugged me as she saw me. She then told me that Janely suffered from depression after she was found to be a cancer patient. I misunderstood about her all this while and felt regretted. Janely’s mother then brought me to her room. She looked very pale and her face showed sufferings.
Ten minutes later, entered a doctor and two nurses with their face masked. The doctor then covered Janely’s body with white clothes. Since then, I lost her forever.
